Yellowknife’s 50th Street goes by many names, most famously “The Gold Range,” “The Range,” or the “Strange Range.” To some, it is an eyesore and an area of public nuisance, to others, it is the stuff of pioneer dreams, legends, and folklore. Year after year, out-of-towners flock to Yellowknife to catch a glimpse of this cultural and geographical oasis.
On any given day, you may find yourself hobnobbing with foreign dignitaries, politicians, musicians, tourists, tribal leaders, and everyone in between. The filmmakers of the documentary “Range Street,” sum it up best when they say you can find “food, drink, arguments, dancing, happiness, sadness, heartbreak, and love” at any given moment while
visiting 50th Street. At Gold Range Bistro Ltd, we most definitely take care of the “food” and “happiness” portions of the statement. We’ll leave those other experiences up to you!
We are proud to be a part of this historic section of Yellowknife. Be sure to check out the documentary; you are certain to see our restaurant and waitstaff.
